  1. I believe they can. Just make sure that they do not get too cold or too hot, a temperature range of 65-75 degrees is best. That other person makes a good point with the water bottle issue, you can try Pedialyte to keep them hydrated better and it would make for less stops. As far as moutains go, they will be fine. They actually live in the Andes mountain range in the wild. Don't know where that person got their info from.


  2. I would think so because I have 2 rats that made a 13 hour trip twice and made it ok. Just make sure to have food and water in the cage and things should be fine. My traveled from Florida to Virginia then back to Florida again.

  3. well if you are going to an 8 hour trip to the mountains or anything close to the mountains they can die from the altitude. and if it is too hot in the car then they can die. try to keep them below 90 degreese F.

  4. Yes.  Make sure the inside of the car is between 65-75 degrees F and that you stop frequently (about every hour or so) to offer water.  Water bottles should not be used while the car is in motion, as they could chip a tooth if the car goes overa  bump while drinking from it.
