Just now I was going to clean my guinea pig's cage and i notice that there were little creatures moving around on her p**p and on top of it. (but, not in it that i know of). They look like little worms! But I do remember that there was a little fly- flying around in her cage that i was trying to get rid of. I don't know if she have internal parasites or if the fly had eggs. PLEASE! I need some help! They look like magets but is green on the back, cream in the middle and has a black tip on the front.( I guess the black tip is the head on these nasty things!)Thank you for your help!

P.S. I'm sorry that it's so early in the morning but i want to know if this is something to be concern about and have treated if necessary.

  1. yes

  2. Yes they can.

  3. get rid of him, yes they can get parasites and you can pay the price when you get the parasites, and for human surgery is expensive

  4. Of course they can, every living thing can! Even if you arent sure if these are parasites of maggots, get the guinea pig to a vet anyway. You do not want to take chances! You can get a dewormer which will make the guinea pig immune to any more possibly harmful bugs. And I do not mean to be rude, but it does not sound like you are keeping the cage clean enough. I cannot imagine having my guinea pigs live amongst maggots! Please try a little harder to prevent this. Buy some of those sticky fly catchers and put them around the room.
