Can guinea pigs recognize their owners?

Can they tell the person who feeds them, cares for them apart from other people?

  1. Of course! They can recognize your individual scent, as well as your voice. They'll get to know and trust you.


  2. Of course. They might be dumb enough to mistake your finger for a carrot (or so I've heard) but they recognize but scent.

  5. yes anytime when im gone and then come back my guinea pigs squeak up a storm lol

  6. they absolutely can!! i have a guinea pig myself and it soudns like i have at least 3 when i walk in the door and he's wanting some attention. lol. it also has to do with scent. because they can tell their owners scent from many others scents, such as food.
