I have a dwarf hamster and it seems to never hear a thing. For example, when I take the earphones of my iPod and put it next to it it deosnt react to it. When I clap my hands it doesn't budge. I think my hamster might be death. Is there a way to tell if it really is?

  1. Er...it's called "deaf". "Death" is what happens when something dies. :/

I doubt it's deaf...unless you've deafened it with your iPod and clapping. Hamsters' natural instinct is to freeze when they see or hear something scary and unexpected.

  2. Well sense the hamster doesn't react when you put your ear bud next to the hamsters ear... it probably is deaf. it is hard to tell but maybe take the hamster to a vet like a specialist and maybe they can see if the hamster is deaf.

  3. hun, its DEAF. death means loss of life, deaf means loss of hearing.

  4. it probably is DEAF not death. it is hard to tell but maybe take the hamster to a vet and maybe they can see if the hamster is deaf.

Hope your hamster can hear :].
