  1. I don't really know

It isn't harmful to her unless it has ink or writing on it

    So just let her chew

She may eventually start to chew on her cage bars

  2. Ours used to chew milk bone dog biscuits! I know hamsters are rodents, why not give them something that will be ok? It sure beats paper or cardboard.

  3. well Try buying these little peices of wood at the pet store I think it gives the same treatment as chew toys and wood block aren't chew toys they can't chew on them ;)wink.

  4. Yeah.

  5. My hamsters love toilet paper roles but if you are worried about giving them items that don't cost money try Kaytee Munchables Shred-A-Box. These are hamster and gerbil treats that come in a cardboard box that your pet has to rip into to get at the goodies. My hamsters love it.

  6. I breed a variety of rodents including hamsters. These are things I do. Toilet paper tubes are nice, but get boring. i take thing, small cardboard boxes and cut up those chewy nutty sticks from pet stores and put them inside the box. They have to chew through the box to get to it. Fresh peanut butter from a jar is not a good idea, it can get stuck in their cheek pouches and clog of their intestinal track. You can take wood blocks and drill wide holes and stuff in sunflower seeds. Good Luck ^_^

  7. well,

my gerbil will chew anything and turn it into bedding. im sure its perfectly fine to give cardboard and such. i give my gerbil toilet paper rolls, poptart boxes (great for homes for them or to chew), paper, and he just loves toilet paper. so good luck with your hamster! :D

    hope this helps.

    (:

  8. My hamster doesnt like his blocks either. what i did though is. I took an empty kleenex box and  traced a toliet paper roll on the outside. Then i cut the circle out and put the toliet paper roll halfway inside. I just did this about 10 minutes ago and my hamster has found his new den. And when a new kleenex box is empty im going to makie it a two story den for him. (with a toliet paper tube for him to get from the top to the bottom) i already have a ladder for him to get up there. :)

Ps put his/ her treats inside the kleenex box den so that they walk through the tube to get in then they do the rest.

pss. romove that plastic stuff before you put it in your cage because your hammy could eat it and die.

  9. That's fine.  They LOVE to chew on toilet paper rolls.  For added fun, add peanut butter and then roll in seeds.  She'll love it.

EDIT:  DO NOT LET HAMSTER GET TO TAPE. IT'S NOT HEALTHY!

  10. carrots, and celery. and yes i think that tape is harmful because of the glue. and give them beef jerky. =D. rotfl.!!!!

  11. Yes cardboard is safe for hamsters to chew on & yes as long as the paper has no ink on it it is safe.

  12. Well i would try to give her wood blocks they would sell them at any pet store ( i recomend nutriction ones) and no plastic. sometimes use a empty roll of toilet paper with no paper on it, they like that :o)

    Hope This Helps :o)

  13. Cardboard is fine as long as there are no colours in it which might harm the hamster's digestion. Which are the chew toys that you are giving her? Try giving her hard dog biscuits, they make a good gnawing stick as well as a treat for her. Empty toilet roll is another good alternative - it makes a good tunneling toy as well as helps in her gnawing. If she still prefers to chew only on cardboard, let her be, it would not harm her in anyway and only do good by making sure that her teeth do not grow too long.

  14. Give her cardboard. My gerbil chewed EVERYTHING but she LOVED cardboard. Don't give her cardboard that has colorful stuff on it, like a cereal box, but try giving her toilet rolls (empty ;p). My gerbil would chew a toilet roll to pieces in one day it was so cute! Don't use paper because it isn't hard and won't help her teeth. Are the toys wooden? Try getting her a wood hamster house, she might like that. WARNING: about the toilet rolls, since she is poofy before you give them to her cut a slit through the toilet roll so it can open up so she doesn't get stuck!!!
