Can hamsters eat ryvetas?

i want to try out different foods and was wondering if you can give hamsters ryvetas??

  1. I didn't know what it was so I checked it out on yahoo. I found it was crisp bread in different flavors. In my opinion I think you could give hammies ryvetas. I have bought bread crispers in apple for hamsters. They are treats found in oet store or walmart.


  2. Look up ingredients for that type of food and see if the ingredients are edible for them.

  3. dont see why not as long as long as you never give them sticky foods that can stick to their food pouches you can give them what you want really.

  4. I think a small piece of ryvita would be ok for a hamster to eat occasionally but fruit or vegetables would be a better idea. Apple, banana, blackberries, carrot, celery, cucumber, grapes, melon, pear, peas, strawberries, sweetcorn, sultanas or nuts as long as they are shelled.

    Foods that hamsters can NOT eat are onion, kidney beans, raw potato, rhubarb, lettuce, cabbage or garlic. It's good that you want your hamster to have a more varied diet! :)

  5. Yeah , i have 2 hamsters and mine LOVE them!!

    They can also eat:

    Apple (seedless)

    Banana

    Blackberries

    Cherries (de-stoned)

    Cranberries

    Grapes (seedless)

    Lychees

    Melon (not watermelon)

    Peaches (no stone)

    Plums (no stone)

    Raspberries

    Raisins and sultanas

    Strawberries

    Bread soaked in low fat milk

    Cooked minced beef (no fat or grease)

    Cooked Chicken

    Cheese

    Grasshoppers and crickets (one at a time)

    Mealworms

    Eggs (cooked ones like boil them or scramble them)

    Baby food (low sugar)

    Sandwich ham

    Cooked plain brown rice or brown/wholewheat pasta

    Museli

    Nuts and seeds (no almonds)

    Asparagus

    Broccoli

    Cabbage (small amounts)

    Carrots *

    Cauliflower

    Celery

    Clover

    Courgette / zucchini

    Cucumbers

    Dandelion leaves

    Green beans

    Lettuce

    Cooked peas

    Spinach

    Sweet corn / corn on the cob

    Turnip

    Water cress

    Dont go too mad on the vegetables because they can get the runs !

    only give them small amounts
