  1. No it is not possible for a normal healthy hamster to loose their teeth completely. The teeth of a hamster keeps growing throughout their life,so there is no such thing as permanent loss of teeth.

It is possible for teeth to break but they will grow again. Is your hamster a old one? Older hamsters are prone to teeth that may break easily. Some vets also think that a hamster's (young or old) teeth may break more easily if the diet is low in calcium. Dog biscuits are a good source of calcium as well as an object to gnaw on, other good sources of calcium would be cheese and milk.

Check your hamster's teeth to see if they are completely lost or it is growing. This can be done by simply gently pulling the skin around the back of the neck, forcing your hamster to 'smile' by pulling the skin back away from the mouth, revealing its teeth.

If your hamster has completely lost her teeth, then she has to be taken to a vet immediately since it could be a sign of a serious dental disease.
