    Bettas dont like moving water so yes the filter will help keep it cleaner BUT the moving water will make him unhappy

    feeding less is the best way to keep the tank clean - not underfeeding - but if you feed too much he isnt eating it and it falls to the bottom and is rotting.


  2. You should still do frequent water changes. The filter will just help keep the water cleaner and the fish healthier.

    As someone mentioned before, bettas don't like too much moving water, so you can try grouping a bunch of plants where the filter outputs. This stops a lot of the heavy current while still allowing for filtration.  

  3. I keep my Betta's in a 5 gallon or larger tank and I like the whisper filters because you can turn them down so the flow doesn't disturb them. I do water changes once a week for them.
