Can having just a couple of tags in youtube actually be a good thing for your video instead of loads?

Having more tags for your video ensures that more people view the video in their search results. Having a few tags is okay, but you may not get as many views.

Yes, it is better. The  lesser the tags, the more views it will get. On average I put around 2-3 tags on my video one always being my user name. The thing about putting more tags is that someone is going to have to search ALL those tags at the same time for your video to come up.

Here's an example. You made a video of you skateboarding at the park, and you did some really cool kick flips.

You put lots of tags on the video like "skateboard smosh ningahiga funny comedy lol awesome tricks kickflip daxflame davedays".

How is your video going to come up when everybody floods their tags too? For your video to come up someone is going to have to search those exact tags in that exact order.

You put only 2-3 tags like " skateboarding kick flips." However, you put your title as "Kick flips at the park." SO now your title and tags cover a lot, with only there being two tags.

well if u only put a couple tags ur serch will come up in everything liek say u put funny in ur tag ur serch will be included in evrything utube considers funny so if u put only a few tags the serch is more vague and less specific so i guess u could get more hits with less tags
