I'm a volunteer and i failed to do my task

What happened:

I was ask to do a task because the person in charge(Overseer 1)will be away for 3 weeks, and i had promise him to do his job(Overseer 1)

Today, i failed to accomplish the task.

Person in charge(Overseer 2) is not happy, and he call me on the phone over the matter, and i apologized to him.

What makes me sad is.. He(Overseer 2) called me 'Very Irrespondsible' and raise his voice a little. I feel sad and little bad of what i have done.

  1. I think he was just disappointed that the task didn't get accomplished, and he was counting on you.

  2. Do not put your foot in another man's shoes!

Anyway, if you tried, then there is no need to feel sad. You should be happy you learned something!

  3. He can say that but since you are voluntering your services you can choose to quit if you feel abused by him

  4. Remember that you are a volunteer.  If you don't like how they are treating you, you can "walk away".  You could volunteer for the same organization (in a different "department").  Or you could volunteer for a different organization.

Remember that you should try to meet all "commitments" that you make - - if at all possible.  But "stuff happens" sometimes.  If you tried your best - don't regret it too much.

Remember that, if it was an important project, then Overseer 2 should have been "managing" it and paying attention to how much progress you were (or were not) making on the project.

P.S.  If Overseer 2 does not treat his volunteers nicely - - they will all go away and he will have to do the work himself!

    .

  5. He can talk to you like that.  If you can;t handle it stop volunteering.

  6. Even though you are a volunteer and not a paid worker, you still need to do your best. If you commit to something, you must follow through.

  7. well hes the head honcho he can say wateva he wants r u kinda like an intern??
