  1. no, it is captive bred and will starve be hunted down or get injured and die

  2. hed survive if he didnt get eaten by a hawk or something

  3. yea..its possible hopefully nothing eats him up there

  4. I'm sorry he's probably not coming home...

  5. he might, if there isn't any snakes, owls, hawks,  or large birds over there. im sorry

  6. To a bird of prey a hamster looks like a mouse.

    "Mmm... this mouse tastes different!"

  7. I'm not sure a hamster or any living creature could live in a tin, whether there is one or a mounted pile of them.

But if it had food like plant life and of course water, I'm sure it could survive sometime in the mountains, before becoming some other creatures lunch. 8D

  8. it is possible for him to survive

  9. Well, chances are, unless you turned him out into the wild, he's still in the house.

I have a hamster, that escaped his cage, and stayed out for 6 weeks.  He lived off the food he could find in the house and what I left for him where he was known to be at the time and he was finally caught and returned to his cage.  There are plenty of areas in this house where he could have left the house, but he chose not to.

Leave some of his favorite treat, like an apple, out where he can get to it, and smell it.  Then see if he either takes it away or eats off of it...if you find that there are teeth marks in the apple or the apple is missing and nobody removed it, then he's still in the house, and you're in luck, he can be caught.

But no, likely not, if he "moved" to the mountains he will not survive it.  There are too many predators out in the wild for him to have survived, and plus he doesn't know about how to be "wild," so he probably will not make it out in the wild.

Try to bait him with the apple, it's worked on a few of my hamsters when they have escaped.  Try looking under beds, in drawers that he can reach, behind refrigerator and stove, in closets...anywhere he can hide.

    Good luck.

  10. It depends on the weather. If it's too cold at night he will die of hypothermia, if its fairly warm and there's plenty of grass he might be fine, then s/he just has to avoid wolves. But if your lucky he may still be in the house. I lost my pet rat once and found him in the storage room 2 weeks later.

  11. It's possible...but how did it get to the mountains?

I think it could take refuge with some kind of rodents.

    Or wolves.

Or bears. It can be like Tarzan but a hamster in the mountains instead of a boy in the jungle.

    He/she's probably fine.

  12. No. im sorry, hamsters depend on you for everything. he has no idea how to survive out there. Also there are many animals like hawks and other birds of pray who might eat him. : ( poor hammy... it would take a merical to keep a pet hamster alive in the mountains....

  13. Depending on your definition on mountains. If the mountains aren't to cold he can find food and shelter and live. If he gets to the part of the mountains where it is to cold, he might suffer from amonia. Lets say a prayer...

Dear Lord, please bless this poor hamster. We think he might have ran to the mountains. Please protect him aslong as you can before he passes away. When he does pass may his body rest in peace, and his soul to reach you o' lord Amen

  14. o.0  Um..  Well..  There's always a chance.  Though since hamsters have been domesticated quite a bit, being outside will probably seem like a whole new world to him.  He'll probably try eating anything and everything, which might result in him getting sick.  With all the new prey, he'll be an easy catch since he doesn't know how to really escape these things and he doesn't have a safe place to run to.

I'd try looking around your home more.  Try looking for small holes in the woodwork, look behind, under, and in your couches and in any other place you can find.  You could set up little stations around your house of small piles of sunflower seeds and check on them daily.  If one starts to disappear, you know something is in your house and taking them and most likely around that spot.  Don't give up too quickly!

  15. probably not for long.  he would probably become another animals lunch.

    sorry.
