Question:

Can heat from a computer damage grout in a tile table?

I have a Dell laptop that heats up quite a bit, and definitely seems excessively hot to those who aren't used to it. I've been told putting it on an old table with a tile top will either damage the tile or dry out the grout. Is this true/ possible?

  1. No unless your computer has some serious problems that is. Still one would think you'd burn out the circuitry before the case gets hot enough to damage the counter top. Tile is used in steam rooms and institutional kitchens where surfaces are often steam cleaned.
