Can home DVD players read MPG files ? ?

I've got AVI movies on my computer and I want to convert them to MPG and burn it to DVD and be able to play it on my DVD player.

Will I be able to play it on my DVD player and watch it like a movie in my living room ?

  6. Not on most DVD players but maybe on yours, if your already converting it just convert it to a DVD format so you know it will work.
