Question:

Can hormone levels affect dreams?

It seems like every month right before my menstrual cycle I tend to have really bizarre nightmares that make me more tired when I wake up than when I went to bed. Could it be from a change in hormones? If so, is there anything I can do about it?

  1. Any chemical activity in your brain is going to leave some kind of prints on the way you dream or think. So, yes, you're right.. your hormones could be affecting you dreams.

This doesn't happen to me during that time of month, but everyone's different.

Are you experiencing emotional exhaustion from the nightmares, or do you feel physically fatigued? If it's physical, then that is something you can ask your doctor about... but I completely understand if the nightmares are draining you.

I don't really have any fix-it advice... sorry.

    Good luck!

  2. Yes.  God blessed us with this curse and there are all types of ways it effect us. You take a relatively sweet girl throw in heavy duty cramps and now you have a she devil.  Give her 3-5 days and she's that sweetheart again. Did you know that some woman have blamed their PMS on murders they committed?.  It can be that extreme.

Let me recommend you talk to your doctor he might want to give you something during this time that can assist you with this.  PMS is a bad enough nightmare for most of us I hate that you get additional nightmare too.  I'm sorry. Feel better and remember this too will pass.
