  1. the despined pads of a prickly pear cactus are a much better natural treat and they are full of calcium, it really depends on what sort of aloe you feed,  Gold Toothed Aloe—(Aloe nobilis) toxic - possible dermatitis,  this bit about the golden toothed aloe is from the tortoise trust web site, i would research aloe a bit more before you feed it to your tortoise here is the site link for the tortoise trust  http://www.tortoisetrust.org/ under the articles section there is a list of house plants you can and can't feed to your tortoise, it also has a list of natural wild food you can feed your tortoise so i would stick to that list rather than risk your tortoises health. best of luck honey.

  2. yes, makes them smell nice too...i use program 'd' on the machine LOL

  3. my horsefields eat it and love it too

  4. To be honest Aloe Vera wail has many great uses hasn`t been researched in reptile consumption. In humans Aloe Vera has shown to improved blood glucose levels in diabetics, lower blood lipids in hyperlipidaemic patients, and reduce symptoms Crohns and UC. However injections of Aloe Vera extracts to treat cancer has resulted in the deaths of several patients. So we know it messes with the blood and other body functions. Also some things such as onions and leeks which people can eat have alkaloid toxins which kill reptiles. Aloe Vera also has been know to cause diarrhea in dogs.  I`m telling you right now I don`t what is will do to your animal. You would be taking a risk with your animals health by doing this. There is no need for them to eat aloe Vera there are many other researched safe plants that i would stick with.
