  1. Not without a space suit.

  2. yes in a glass farm with robots to go outside, or if they  deliberately globally warm the atmosphere than a chain reaction could occur making it habitable ,, terraforming it  like Arnie did in some movie

  3. No, it is all sugar and fat and not enough protein and vitamins.

  4. Without considerable technology, NO.  Mars is deadly.  With hundreds of billions of dollars worth of life support machinery, Yes, until something breaks for which you do not have a spare part within 50 million miles, then NO.

  5. Not without a whole lot of support equipment, no.

  6. At the moment, humans could only live on Mars if we built them some airtight, climate-controlled buildings to live in.  Mars does not have a breathable atmosphere.  The Mars colonists might be able to build greenhouses and grow their own plants, but at first, all of their supplies from their equipment and food through oxygen would have to be shipped to them from earth.  Right now, the Phoenix lander is looking for ice, but it hasn't found any, so their water would probably have to come from earth too.

Earth's thick atmosphere filters out some of the sun's radiation (so does its magnetic field). Mars's atmosphere is thinner than earth's, so the colonists's buildings and greenhouses would have to be built with at least some radiation shielding.  Not even Martians like sunburned tomatoes.

Speaking of greenhouses, Martian soil has been shown to be acidic in places but all right in others.  The colonists might be able to grow acid-tolerant crops, such as asparagus, in Martian soil.  Other plants would need soil from earth.

The other twist is that Mars's gravity is about half of earth's.  If the colonists stayed there too long, their bones would grow thin and their hearts would shrink.  Eventually, they would not be able to live on earth any more and would have to stay.  They would be Martians of earth ancestry.

  7. If we could, we'd be all over that. ;D

But sadly, we can't. We wouldn't be able to breath and I think that the temperatures are too extreme at times.

  8. No. The only planet suitable for life is Earth.

  9. no .

    couldnt breath .

    and way too hott .

    :]

  10. well, i do.

  11. no, not enough o2

  12. Humans can live anywhere with the right technology, but without technology and an artificial supply of food and water we can only live here on Earth.

EDIT: THat we know of, of course there are millions of undiscovered planets out there that could support human life naturally.

  13. Sure.

The following problems need to be solved.

Humans need oxygen to breath.  Mars has oxygen, but not in the right form.  The carbon dioxide in the Mars atmosphere is one possible source of oxygen.  There may be others.

The atmosphere on Mars is less than 1% the pressure of Earth's.  You'll need a pressure suit.

Mars has no global magnetic field.  This helps protect people on Earth from cosmic rays and other nasty radiation.  One could live underground.  But some sort of shielding would be nice for on the surface.

People need to eat.  The bottom of the food chain is vegetables. So some sort of green house, shielded from nasty stuff, will be needed.

  14. We can hardly manage to live here on Earth, how do you expect us to manage on Mars?
