  1. The answer is yes.   A noble metal catalyst like metallic platinum or metallic palladium will do the job nicely and catalyze the reaction.   If hydrogen and oxygen gases are mixed and the catalyst is added,  the gas mixture will explode.


  2. well, speaking from my science class, yah they wont react, they might mix bont wont do much, what you need to do is take hydrogen, and the put a flame near it (keeping in mind to have small quantities) the fire is like the catalyst, the flame bring the oxygen into the water and creates water voila H2O
