Can i Sell train parts on ebay?

Question

I was walking along a road and found the big piece of metal. Went home and looked it up. It's the piston pin out of a GE 16 cylinder train motor. I was wondering if I could sell it or does the train companies own this stuff?

It will make a nice paper weight for a train fan. Clean it up and sell it. I've seen so many of them, that it's no longer a curio to me.

If it was along a road, it is off the RR right of way and you own it now

if it was picked up along the railroad right of way, they have no more interest in it than a peice of scrap, of no value to anyone.

dont worry about it, you will be amazed at how many RR buffs will be interested.

As long as you came by the piece in a legitimate fashion and it is rightfully yours,    sell away.
