I Signed all necessary paperwork for a new car, with a down payment, to be delivered the next day, the car was not delivered, I was then told it would be delivered in three days. It has been three days, and dealer has not returned calls. What can/should i do?

  1. just cancel the order and quit your whining

  2. Normally there isn't much you can do since most sale contracts on cars do not have a specified delivery date.  That being said talk to the owner. and find out why there has been a delay.  If it is a new car then there could have been a transport delay from the factory (there was a transporter that just went bancrupt recently)

If they were getting the car from another dealer it may have been sold from under them.  Find out then if they cannot get it in a reasonable time tell the owner you want to back out since they cannot get the car

  3. Visit the dealer and speak to the manager of car sales personally.  He/she may have a legitimate reason for what is going on, but you need to give him/her an opportunity to explain the situation before taking any further action.  It is doubtful if you could launch a successful lawsuit unless you can prove significant monetary losses.  However, if you speak to the manager (as well as the receptionist, etc.) in a respectful, courteous manner (but still be firmly concerned), he/she may give you some monetary compensation on the final price.

  4. I would go to the dealer and confront them, and demand compensation for the inconvenience.
