Hey , i signed enlisted for US Army under the late entry program , and im supose to ship out to fort benning nov. 11th for Airborne Infantry .

I went to MEPS , took my phsyical and all of that , and got a little plastic id card for when i ship from MEPS in november...

But someone at meps took my airborne away because i dident take the test...anyways...

Is there anyway they can take all of my information, and i can become enlisted for a marine , still have a ship date around novemeber , without having to go through the meps process again???

I live in california...reputation for the worst meps...its a *****...

so is it possible to switch to marines?

  1. Nope.  The Army owns your young @$$.

  2. yes

  3. NO.....You need to get out of the Army system and only then can your USMC recruiter begin the process to enlist you..

How can you expect to ship near your Army date if your joining another branch? They dont go to the same boot camps..

Tell your Army recruiter you want to be the best and tell him to move his *** in getting you out of the Army...Once you are relieved of that abortion you go see the nearest Jarhead recruiter and he will sign your *** up..

You cant "switch" but you can get out of one and then enter another..

  4. Technically you can switch, but I think you are doing alot of shuffling because of emotion verus the facts. You lost an 'Airborne Contract' just like that? Doesn't seem right and we don't have the facts. Why didn't fight for it? What's really going on here? A man honors his commitments not blames the MEPS (the same one I went through 20 years ago) for hs failings. There is no chart showing the L.A. MEPS as the worse in the Army so stop with the rumor S**t. We can easily say the same about the quality of recruits from major cities in Southern California (my home too). I know because we Chapter (kick up) alot weekly in JAG where I work now.

So whatever your adgenda is...get the story and facts right and straight before you jump ship. If you go to another recruiter in the Marines telling them how you got 'screwed' by the Army and want Force Recon now because you couldn't qualify for airborne infantry, you'll look like a hazard and risk.

Good luck with this and remember the Army Values.
