  1. No. PCI is different than PCI-Express. The card will not physically fit in the slot.

  2. Only if your remaining slot is the black long one near the top. If I'm right, this is a picture of your motherboard:

    http://www.asus.com/prog_content/middle_...

In that picture, your slots are in the upper-left. The 8800GT uses a PCI-Express x16 slot (or a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot). That's the long black slot, and that's the only slot that video card will go in. Usually that slot would only be used for a video card anyway, so I'm not sure what else you would have in that slot, but if it is your current video card, then you're going to replace it anyway. If not, it depends how badly you need whatever card is there.

Also, if that's the only slot there, make sure the model of 8800GT you get is the single slot version that doesn't take up the space of the slot under it.

In a nutshell, the 8800GT will only work in a PCI-Express x16 or PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot. Your motherboard only has one of those slots, so that is the only slot you can install it in. You CANNOT install it in a standard PCI slot.

Hope this helps, if you need anything else put it in an edit.

  3. Yes, it will.

  4. no. its a different kind of slot. its like trying to put an N64 game into a super nintendo. it just won't work

  5. PCI-e is backward compatable with AGP but AGP isnt compatable with PCI-e. Short answer is no.
