You could watch one movie on it, but then the battery might be flat, unless you could re-charge it.

Probably not 2-3 movies. But you should get at least 1 movie from a fully charged battery. If you need extended battery life without being able to plug it in,such as on long flights, you can purchase a battery life extended that your iPod touch can dock onto. These are available online and offline.
