Can i add a golden sucker fish or two?

ok so i have 1 betta and 5 neon tetras. i haven't done any reaserch on golden sucker fish yet but they are so cute and i have a bit of algae. my snails died cuz it wasn't hard enough water because of the neons. i just got some more plants tho, so i will be getting more algae. thanks!!!

  1. the golden sucker fish isn't a great idea,

    they tend to be very aggressive to anything smaller than them.

    also, they're not always that great at getting rid of the algae.  


  2. i would try one watch them for a while and if they start fighting then pull the sucker help.

  3. forget 1 inch per gallon for large fish.

    those 'golden sucker fish' get 8 inches, turn highly agressive, stop eating algae, and start killing and eating fish.

  4. How are your tetras with the betta?

    What size tank do you have? Use the 1 in per gallon based on full-grown length.

    If you have some room leftover, I say go for it.

    The Bettas reaction is unpredictable though.
