Can i adopt my boyfriends kids?

Im 24, my boyfriend has an amazing little boy who is a year and a half old. The mother died do to drug overdose and i absolutely love the kid. Where is a place i could read more on this. Thanks or is it even possible for me to adopt his kid

Im pretty sure you have to be married.  Just because you are the gf does not really mean anything unless you have a ton of money for a lawyer.
