  1. no, wait till your 18. a horse is a big responsibility. you cant just up and leave when you go to colledge (and dont say you wont, you most probably will)

  2. it depends if your willing to pay a h**l of alot of money for the horse most people think they can take care of the horse and say they will but  most likely you wont even make it through a month so i wouldn't get a horse if your never home if your just going to forget about it and make your parents care for it but plze dont get a horse they need tons and tons of attention and care getting a horse is completely different from getting a dog or cat or ferret and they need a lot of space to run and graze so i wouldn't recommend for you to get one not unless you already live on a farm or ranch or something like that and your use to taking care of farm pets

  3. 11 dollars each, or is all that wealth accumulated by both parents

  4. Probably not.  Horses are extremely expensive animals to keep (several hundred a month in boarding, food, farrier, etc.).  With rising hay, grain, and fuel costs, horses have become even more expensive to keep than they already were.  Plus the startup costs are substantial.  Even if both parents are working full time, at $11 an hour, that's only about $3500 a month (roughtly $42,000 a year), plus after they have taxes, health insurance, etc. taken out, they aren't taking home much at all.  If they are like most people with a kid in that income range, they are barely making ends meet, that's probably just enough to pay rent or motgage payment, insurance, put gas in the cars, feed and clothe everyone, and maybe have a luxury or two like cable.  Unless they don't have any housing expense, they definitely can not afford the expense a horse is nowadays.

Add: No, that won't help.  Your dad would have his own set of housing expenses, transportation expenses, etc, plus he is likely paying child support to help support you, and single people pay a whole lot more taxes than married people.  Your dad likely has little to no extra income each month for luxuries of any kind, if he also makes $11 an hour.  Even is he makes over $20 an hour, he probably still wouldn't be able to help out enough for you to afford a horse.

  5. Sounds like something you should discuss with your parents. Only they know what they can afford, based on their wages & expenses.

  6. Wait until you are 18 and buy your own.

Instead of asking your parents for this money, take lessons, volunteer at a vet, work at a stable.

You should not pressure your parents to make this HUGE investment.

Board and vet bills are several hundred a month.
