Can i apply UK visa in the USA?

Hello, i have a question.I am studying in the USA now...i want to go to England to study for the degree of MSc this fall and have already got a offer from a English university. So i am just wondering if i can apply Uk visa in US... or should i necessarily go back to China to apply Uk visa ?thanks

Are you a citizen of the US? If so, then you can definitely apply for a UK visa in the US. Do you have a US Passport? If so, you do not need a visa to the UK unless you have been refused entry in the pass. But since you mentioned that you were in school, then I'm assuming you are here on a school type visa from China. If that's the case, then I don't think you will be able to apply for a visa here in the US as a chinese citizen. I think you would have to apply at the UK embassy in China.

Typically speaking, you can apply for a visa as long as you have legal status in the country that you are applying in. In your case you do.
