I am currently here in the US on a tourist visa, and I was wondering if I could apply for a canadian tourist visa outside my country of origin which is the Philippines?

In case yes, what requirements do I need then?

THanks a lot!

  1. As soon as your visa expires, call the INS and ask questions. They are very helpful.

  2. no, only if you were a resident in the US,

you would have to show prove of your present status of immigration in the US in order to apply for a tourist visa in Canada, therefore you will have to do this from your country and not the US.

  3. As you are a Filipino national in the United States on a tourist visa and are not a green card holder, you will need to apply for a visa to visit Canada. It is not clear on the website of the Canadian Embassy in Manila if you can do so from the United States if you are there on a tourist visa.

You should contact the Canadian Embassy in Manila or the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C., or the Canadian consulate general in Buffalo, NYC, Detroit, LA, Seattle (whichever is nearest to you in the United States)

  4. Apply for a Canadian visa at the Canadian Embassy in the US and be sure that the number of days of your stay in the US will be enough to wait for the issuance of the Canadian visa.
