Can i apply for unemployment if my work cut down my hours and because of that i quit????

in other words i quit because they werent giving me any hours....

  1. You can try.  No guarantee.  If you weren't getting any hours, you should be been looking for a new job.

Hmmmm.....sounds like they cut your hours because (for whatever reason) they wanted you to quit.  If they'd outright fired you/laid you off, you'd get unemployment.  As it stands, you can apply, but you'll most likely be denied.  Companies are clever about that sort of thing.  They generally won't fire you without a file folder full of documentation, but they get off scott free if they can entice you to quit.

  4. No, you can't collect unemployment if you quit a job, you either need to be fired or layed off.

  5. No.  You terminated voluntarily and thereby lost your unemployment benefit.  You should have been looking for a different job with the time you had off from work.
