Can i bank a cheque (for the second time) that has already bounced an been returned by bank?

yes it does say refer to drawer. does this mean i cant re-bank it

  1. Yes but it can depend on why the cheque bounced in the first place. When there insufficient funds on the account when it is first presented most banks will return it "Refer to Drawer, Please Represent"for your own bank to represent it. If funds are not then put in the account by the person who gave you the cheque then it is returned to you "Refer to Drawer". If you are satisfied that who gave you the cheque has now covered it, pay it in again. If it was bounced because the drawer of the cheque had put a stop on it then then you have to make sure the stop has been removed.

    It is because of all this hassle that banks charge (albeit over the top in some cases). However, no-one should ever knowingly write out a cheque when there are no funds on the account.
