Can i be a firefighter if i am taking prozac?

i know that firefighters need to be mentally capable as well as physically. would being on a medication like this disqualify me from being a firefighter?

No, it will not disqualify you. They would rather hire a depressed/anxious individual who is being TREATED and under a physician's care than find out that you're a depressed/anxious individual who is going untreated.

If you are asked during the background investigation or background interview do not purposely withhold any info.  They will find out anyway, and it will only hurt you because you lied. The motto is, "you lie, you die."
