Can i be a good cross country runner after taking 1 month off?

I took about 3 week off..and now i am starting to run again? I was wondering if i could still be a good runner and what are way to get better then before?

  1. Make sure you add a stretching routine to your running


  2. You are probably a little out of shape, so you will need to run to get back in shape. You can still be a good runner, and ways to get better than before:

    Push yourself harder, such as don't walk when you get tired, or add more time onto runs.

    Use a stopwatch and do a couple paced runs a week

    Do sprint work

    Build up the muscles you use for running, like lunges, situps, etc.

  3. just keep running and training. give urself about a week of easy road runs and then start doing intervals and all that good stuff. try training in the heat,high humidity, cold and just all diff conditions so you are prepared

    also do some light weight lifting to build lean muscle because you have probably started to lose some of it and drink lots of water and eat!!

    what school or etc do you run for?
