Can i be a nursery nurse with only a level 2 qualification?

i have been to college to study childcare and education level 2. i have been working in a nursery for 8 months now but i have been working at level 3 standards, (even though im only level 2) i am now looking for a new job and also would like to do training in a new job for my level 3, ive searched online for nursery assistant jobs, but it keeps coming up with nursery nurse. Are they the same thing or could i apply for a nursery nurse job if i plan to do training for my level 3.? please help

  1. Hi you really do need to do your level three to be considered fully qualified. I know this is a pain but I'm afraid new Government legislation has stated that by 2010 everyone who works with children unsupervised Must have a level 3.

    I am a pre-school leader and I have to train to level 4 to keep my job, very unfair I know. Many people in my position are not training so goodness knows what will happen come 2010. Good Luck with your studies and remember you can study whilst you work.
