Just make sure its unlock or you know how to unlock it otherwise you can not use it.

Yes ofcourse, you can use the iphone you bought from USA. But after unlocking the phone. And one thing (most important) you must keep in your mind is never try to upgrade your unlocked iphone, if you do that you will get your phone stucked (hang), and then you will never ever able to use that phone again. Yes u can use,but u have to break the code. If you take in India,u have to take through Airtel or Vodafone and other sims won't work.It's costly too in India.
