  1. Of course

  2. yes. if you have been told in advance though that you won't be paid and you agreed, its your fault. maybe they are still testing you if you are right for the job.

  3. In America you can be fired for any reason imaginable. Getting canned for slacking off is a no-brainer.

  4. Sure can and if you haven't been paid for what you've already worked so far, there's a sure bet to never get it without a lot of hassle. Have you talked to the boss? What's their excuse? You should call the Labor Relations Board and find out what you can do to get paid. Frankly, I'd stay so long as I got my money, but I'd be looking elsewhere already.

  5. ask them what excuse u have or i  would find one for u ...that's a nice going  to realize there mistake...

  6. My boss is doing the same thing to me!  i haven't been putting my best because he doesn't put in his best, but i still do a reasonable job.   He Very well could fire you but i think most employers would try to avoid that especially if he owes you money.  So Yes he could fire you but you should also think about just finding a new job if it bothers you enough to work with poor effort.

You are also new to this job and you should try to do good just because you don't know what could have happened.  There could many reasons you didn't get your check on time.  And also employers are only allowed to be one week late on your check and nothing longer.  so 4 days isn't that bad.  my check is a month late and my second check is 2 weeks.  don't worry about it.  Hope i gave some good insight to your problem.  good luck :)

  7. So ask them what's going on? Were you told you were going to be paid every two weeks, when you start a job mid pay cycle you often have to wait three weeks. Find out what's going on. As for slacking off if your not getting paid why even show up. But yes you can get fired for anything most states are at wil states so you can quit at anytime for any reason and they can fire you at anytime for any reason.

  8. This is an excellent way to get fired,   Have you asked about your pay?

  9. yes.

  10. If you work in an "at-will" state (which is most of the US) you can be fired any point in time, and you can leave at any point in time. Even if you're doing a good job, even if your employer pays you on time.

So will your employer find your slacking off good reason to let you go? Probably. Passive-aggressive behavior is often lost on businesspeople. Maybe asking for your paycheck is a more appropriate tact.

If you persist in slacking off, you may find a paycheck and pink slip delivered simultaneously.

  11. Yes. Talk to them about it instead of doing a poor job. If you don't like their answer then quit and move on.

  12. Your employer is obligated to pay you for your time on the job.  If you are doing a poor job, your employer can (and should) fire you.
