Can i be forced out of my home that i own 1/3 of,by 2 brothers who own 2/3s of home?

i have lived at my home alone since 1993.paid

all bills , home insurance, paid for repairs to property on my own. maintained the property, its basically been my responsibilty for 15 years but recently my brothers have been trying to force me out ,demanding house was sold and split 3 ways , i have no intention leaving ,but i dont know were i stand regarding the law ,and the fact that i have ben sole responsible for the home without my brothers contibuting any help over the years. they are quite rich ,dont really need the money , doing out of spite and greed.anyone know were i stand on this matter , live in merseyside england

  1. In the US you could not deny them their share of their property, which is what you are trying to do.    They could force you via the court system to do one of two things, either sell the house and give them their 1/3, or have the house appraised and give them their 1/3 and then the house really will be yours.

    I can not imagine the England would allow you to keep their property.


  2. If you have lived and cared for this property for that many years you have every right to continue living there. Otherwise you could actually make them pay 2/3 of everything you have had to pay for over the years. When you maintain a property you have certain rights that allow you to either acquire extra ownership or others may owe you money back if they really want you out that bad.   3. I would get in contact with a solicitor and get a clear idea of where you stand.
