  1. depends really can you find someone to do the work cheaper..the work could be done by any shop.... and it should be from someone you pick i think your company trying to put something on you by useing their guy... talk with a lawyer and let him handle it

  2. prabably not

  3. No, you always have the right to choose your own repair facility assuming it's certified.  But some insurance companies will guarantee the repair only if it's done at a shop on their approved list.

  4. no they cannot force you to fix it anywhere

  5. If you had an accident and the other person insurance is asking or demanding you to take your vehicle to a certain place to be fixed...that is a no no. There could be other motives behind this. You have the right to get up to three estimates from wherever you want to have your car repaired! If after you then give the other person those estimates, they usually try to choose the cheaper, but in any case its  wherever you are comfortable getting you vehicle repaired.

  6. NO!  The shop should be your choice, as long as their licensed and certified.  They will not guarantee any work done and if there's a supplemental cost if will need to be approved.

They can also refuse to pay for rental and make you pay out of pocket until you submit a receipt.

  7. No, you cannot be forced to use one of their referral shops.  Keep  in mind however, that the work performed at an autobody of your choice will not be guaranteed by the insurance company.  Having it repaired at one of theirs will be.

  8. Sometimes, most insurer's have approved repairers but if you stay in a major city, you will find they have more than one anyway.  What reason are they giving you for this.

  9. Each state has their own laws regarding this matter.  I don't think they can require you to use a certain place.  They can require you to have more then one estimate done first though.  Also the rules can be different if its a lease too.

  10. Many companies make you get 3 estimates and others let you choose after they estimate the cost. Never heard of a company forcing you to get it fixed anywhere else.
