  1. yes and no, if you can still use it now then no,  if you fake it and say it hurt all the time or you can't move it then yes.  but that takes a long time to get a med board, suck it up and finish what you started

  2. I don't understand your question. Do you break your hand on purpose to get out of the military or was it an accident and you are wondering if it will keep you out. You may get a temporary waiver until it heals and if it doesn't hinder your job performance. it shouldn't be a problem. If you broke it on purpose because you had second thoughts, you could be court marshalled.

  3. Since you aren't really in yet, you can't be "discharged."

Your recruiter will give you the option of going to basic when your hand heals or if you don't want to join anymore then you don't have to.

  4. if you have not yet shipped to basic  and you broke your hand, you will siomply NOT ship until the hand heals and you are cleared by the MERPS doctors.  there is no discharge because you aren't in yet.

if you break it while at  Basic training, they will determine whether you will be put on Med Hold until it heals, sent home until it heals, or discharged completely and then you must seek to re enlist.

  5. Well when i was at a duty station a buddy of mine broke his radius and ulna and he just went to light duty till he healed up...so its not like they will automatically discharge you for some broken bones...but your saying your on your way to basic? well i dunno if they will discharge you, but i couldnt imagine they will let you complete basic with a broken hand. I remember that there was a company you got sent to if you were hurt to heal up and then they would throw you back into a new group that was going through...or something like that.

    Good luck

  6. I suppose, if it's serious enough to be an impairment.  A military doctor will have to make the call, though.
