  1. Yes you can and there is plenty for them to do there in several locations.  First, take them to watch the fountains displays in front of the Bellagio hotel. It usually runs every 15 minutes in summers starting at 3:00 PM; runs continuously until about midnight. Each show is different (there are more than 20 different tunes choreographed) so stay and watch at least 2 or 3. ALSO, go inside the Bellagio hotel to its lobby and view the beautiful glass sculptured ceiling AND the seasonal floral arrangements in the Atrium. ( http://www.bellagio.com/amenities/founta... )

Then walk them down to the Treasure Island Hotel to see the  Ã¢Â€ÂœSirens of TI” show (spectacular); it runs every 90 minutes starting at about 4:30 PM. Simply stand on the sidewalk in front of the TI Hotel. http://www.treasureisland.com/pages/ent_...  Then you may want to take them inside to play the arcade games on the lower level.

On your way to Treasure Island let them watch the volcano erupt in from of the Mirage Hotel; starting at dark until midnight. Just stand on the sidewalk in front of the hotel.  Then you may want to take them inside the doors to see the white tigers.

Then go to  Caesars Palace and walk through the Forum shops to the first fountain (its spectacular) then take the first fork to the left to go see the aquarium. Then continue on through the shops to the second fountain and wait for the show to start.

Then you may want to take them to the movies.  There are movie theaters in the Palms (multiplex) which is just off the Strip on Flamingo Road (across from the Rio Hotel) and also another on the Strip across the street from the Monte Carlo hotel, near the MGM hotel.

And if your kids like roller coasters and other arcade and video games there are several places to go.  There are roller coaster rides at the NY, NY hotel/casino, at the Sahara Hotel/Casino, and, for those with a strong heart, three rides at the top of the Stratosphere Tower. The Circus Circus Hotel/casino has arcades and an indoor amusement park. There is a place called Game Works below the Coke World experience that has all type video games. In addition, many hotels have an arcade area.

So with all of those activities up and down the Strip you will see some kids tagging along.  Not many in my experience, but some.

  2. Of course. Actually 11-13 is probably easier than an older teenager. They are more likely to enjoy the lion exhibit at MGM, the shark and dragon exhibits at Mandalay Bay, the tiger exhibit at Mirage, and roller coasters, not to mention trams and monorails.

    - There are a lot of advertisements for prostitutes (mostly cheap newsmags and small playing card size ads).

    - Carry water. They will get dehydrated quickly and water is expensive on the strip.

There is unfortunately no reduced bus fare for non-resident children. Have exactly $7.50 with you. When they get tired you can purchase three tickets ($2.50 apiece) for 24 hours on the tourist bus, "The Deuce". You can't buy them in advance since the 24 hours starts with the purchase.

  3. Of course you can its a public space but remember the later it gets the more freaks come out. Not a cheap shot at Vegas this rule applies to every big city in the world

  4. Sure you can, minors just have to be kept off the gaming floors and anywhere else you have to be 21, as far as the curfew thing that all depends on your age, relationship to them and of course what your doing ?. People are always coming and going, since everything is always open its not a big deal, but like I said before it depends, if your "loitering" with minors that may bring attention and concern plus "just hangin" on the strip at all hours isnt the wisest  thing for anyone to do.

  5. I was just there in January and you wouldnt believe the amount of people there with small children (i mean babies) on the strip at midnight! and on the gaming floors. As long as your children aren't sitting at a slot machine they can be in the casinos and the strip. There is actually a quite a bit a teenager would enjoy in Vegas.... The M&M factory, the fountains at the bellagio, the gondola ride at the venetian, the dolphin habitat at the mirage, and there are also roller coasters and other rides at the Stratosphere and New York, New York. Most if not all of the hotels have nice pools too. That is just "some" of the things you can do in Vegas without gambling.  Then of course you can always go on the dam tour!

  6. You can walk around as late as you want but the kids can't be on the own after 9pm.  You will be safe but don't restrict yourselves to the strip get down to Fremont Street the kids will love the sound and light show and there are stalls all the way up and live bands etc bit more for them to do than on the strip.

  7. Yes and if you are the parent I doubt you would be stopped.Of course they can't go into any casinos but Freemont Street would be good for them as they have a light show that is fantastic at night. They would enjot the mall next to the Bally's too. Also go see the white tigers at the M G M Grand.

  8. The strip is a public street and is open to everyone. However, you have to be aware that there will be people walking around with open alcohol containers, drinking in the street (it is legal there). You kids will also see people smoking and hookers. And because of the heat, during the day a lot of regular women go around wearing not a lot.

Las Vegas and Clark County have a curfew ordinance for young people. Anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited from being on the Strip after 9 p.m. on weekends and holidays unless accompanied by a parent. Off the strip, the curfew for those under the age of 18 is 10 p.m. on school nights and midnight on weekends.

The purpose behind the curfew is to keep large groups of kids under 18 that aren't engaged in any positive activity away from the areas where it might affect tourism.

  9. There is a 9 pm curfew but children that age can be on Strip if with their parent.  Problem is kids are not allow in the gaming areas or where liquor is served so you will be very limited to where you can go inside.

The attractions like Adventure Dome are closed at 9 so there is nothing to interest kids except walking and the lights.  The volcano at Mirage is free as is the pirate show at Treasure Island, that goes until 11.
