i stoped taking my birth control pills in may and have had a normal period since then but now i am two months late and my husband thinks i might be pregnant. i have taken several hpt and they were all negative and i went to the doctor she did a urine test that was negative. i told her that my nipples had been sore for over a week, i borke out and occasional heart burn. she said i might be and that since my husband and i were ok with eith outcome that i shold just wait and see what happens in the next month. i thought she would examine me or take blood but all she did was say that i might be pregnant and she recomended waiting a month and comming back in. i am usually a very regular person with or without birth control so this is a first time for me to even be a week late. i am taking her advice and waiting i just wanted some input from anyonr who might of had the same thing happen to them or could give me some advice i hate waiting!!! thanks

  1. Well, if the test came back negative you're probably not pregnant. You could have an ovarian cyst from stopping the birth control pills; that can delay your period.

I would go back and get a pregnancy blood test, if that is negative ask for an ultrasound of your uterus to check for cysts.

  2. Test, test, test.. We can't give you the answer.

  3. This happened to me. I came off the pill and had a normal cycle, then it was ages before I got my next period - I thought I was pregnant too, but it was just my body re-adjusting after coming off the Pill. The Pill can really mess your body around and it can take quite a while for it to get back on track.

  4. Take a pregnancy test.

  5. uhhmm why dont u ask ur dr. to check ur blood??i think that is more accurate than urine test,,,,

    gudluck,,hope u are pregnant!

  6. wait a couple more days since the hcg hormone increases in your urine. take a hpt early in the morning since thats when you have the highest amount of the hormone.i suggest you take a blood test next time you go to your dr. good luck

  7. Unfortunately birth control plays havoc with our systems and it can take months for our periods to return to normal.  You can be pretty sure that if you have had urine and blood tests come back negative that you're not pregnant.  However, this doesn't mean you haven't conceived since you took your last tests.  If you're still sexually active then you should test every few weeks until your periods return or you get a positive result.  If your periods haven't returned after about six months I would recommend consulting with your doctor.

  8. only way to know is to take a test...good luck to u

  9. it sounds like you might be....but of course those signs could also be psm couldn't they??
