  1. If he has the proof that your son did it, I'd say yes, you can.

  2. Yes He probably can if he has proof But why is he coming to you 3 1/2 years later police would find that odd if he reported U

  3. I don't think that he would be able to sue you.  He might be able to sue your son if he has some evidence, but there is usually a time limit that you need to file and 3 1/2 years for a broken window seems like a lot of time.  Why didn't he file a lawsuit when it happened?

  4. Whether or not the vehicle was drivable is of no significance.  I cant imagine someone going through all the legal hassles over a mere car window but nonetheless, since your son is 19, I would allow him the privilege to pay any civil liabilities.

You may wish to find out if your state (since you didn't mention your state of residence) has a minimal tolerable amount to proceed to court with.  If everyone sued over over amounts this small, the courts would be so overwhelmed with law suits, they would never be able try all the cases.

  5. Make a call to a local attorney and ask him about the statute of limitations in your case.

  6. For one, all caps is considered yelling.

Secondly, yes you can be sued. Your son committed an act of vandalism, and it doesn't matter if the car was drivable or not. It's a civil matter now, not criminal, so he can sue you for the damages caused by your son.

  7. I highly doubt he has any evidence.

How could he? Whats he gonna bring to prove that he didn't break the window himself and is sueing a random person for damages?
