  1. I would wait until it is expunged. Yes, you should bother to make a better life. Jesus, have a little patience - you get a clean slate in half a year! Keep your trap shut about it - it doesn't reflect well on you in the medical community.

  2. Yes, continue your education.  Stay clean and you will be fine.  It is good that you have that fear.  Keep it, and it will keep you out of trouble.

  3. This is a question you should be asking in the nurses section or their equivalent.  They would know the standards.

  4. First, the FBI Index includes only serious adult or juvenile offenses.  I very much doubt that possession of less than one ounce of MJ is considered a serious offense, even by the FBI.  (28 CFR 20.32.)

Second, what you get in marijuana possession cases is better than expungement.  All records are destroyed ("permanently obliterated").  (Health & Safety Code section 11361.5.)  So a conviction of this offense does not remain on your record -- the record itself is destroyed.

  5. Depends on who is doing the background and how they get information. A good background will show the original arrest. Also, just because it was expunged at the local level, it will always show on your FBI record, so be honest. Yes, I know your lawyer told you it would magically disappear. It does not from the FBI.

    Good luck.
