Question:

Can i become an actor if i blush?

Well, i suffer from 'uncontrollable' blushing (I believe it is called KPRF - but that includes roughness of skin i think which i do not get). I will basically blush in situations like being the center of attention and often meeting new people, or being asked a personal question.

However, i try not to let this get me down, and i enjoy acting a lot and although i've done little outside of school it is something i really want to pursue. What i want to know is, will judges at auditions accept an actor who blushes a lot? And also, if anyone suffered/suffers from this that could give tips on ways to control it yourself (without medication) then that would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot

  1. of course you can as far as it is not infectios sais my dad becouse i want to become an actress and there are so many rules u must follow but no one sais that you can not act if u have kprf only if it is infectios u are not allowed check out this web page www.actinginfo.blogspot.com

  2. yeah u r great

  3. sure ya can..and besides the screen requires that you use make up to prevent shinning. and on stage they use pancake make ups .

Shoot .. you would do fine.

Also as life goes on.. you will find that with your kindness to other and a willing heart to do good for others your blushing will subside. But look at it this way... I think it is a wonderful attribute. A sensitive person who can feel so much can feel the emotions of the character they are portraying.

  4. i am sure it wouldnt be a problem

however, here is a tip which could reduce the amout you blush when acting. although you say this condition is 'uncontrolable' you may be able to stop it a bit if you try.

i also blush in many situations and i used to find it difficult not to when acting. but as i have developed my acting skills i now dont PRETEND to be a person when acting but i BECOME that person. this way, i stopped blushing as the character i was playing wouldnt blush . it is fine to blush if the character you uare playing is in a situation when they would be embarrassed as it would make you performance more believable.

instead of accepting that you blush, try to control it by not letting certain situations bother you.

    good luck
