Can i bring my canadian citizen son to US interview?

Hi,

my son is 16 months old and is a canadian citizen..i have a visa appointment for US and i was wondering if i can bring him to the interview though he doesnt need a visa? i am not able to get a baby sitter and was thinking not to leave him behind with a friend for 4-5 hours....thanks

  1. I definetly do NOT tink the guard is going to take care of the baby.Those guards are busy...there are usually hundreds of people at the embassy.  You need to call the embassy, visa section and ask if you may bring him.  I really think you NEED to find a babysitter...this is an extremely important interview, and the embassy does not like extra people in the embassy.  They are all business and unlikely to be sympathetic to your babysitting problems.  They can barely manage to be courteous to citizens, let alone do you favors.  I would not take him unless the visa section says it is ok.


  2. You shouldn't have any problems just explain that you couldn't get a sitter and you don't have any one you can leave him with.

  3. Typically, the only people allowed into the consular section of the U.S. Embassy are people who have interviews. Security is tight and you not getting a sitter might mean you miss your appointment when you are refused entry.

  4. Look if they won't allow you to bring you child, let the guard at the door take care of him while you are in the interview. I'd bet he'd say yes so fast.
