There is nothing preventing you buying a ticket for someone else.  

HOWEVER, if that person is underaged, she won't be able to travel without an accompanying adult.  And before you go lavishing money on an international ticket, you'd better check she has a passport and has a valid British visa.  Otherwise, it will turn into a very expensive lesson in planning.

Well, while expedia.com are safe way to buy tickets, why not try the website of the airline?

I am pretty sure you also get the best deals on the website of the airline itself than expedia.

Done it for a friend in Spain to come here.  No problem.  

Just email them the confirmation details you receive so they have the paperwork at check in desk.

Yes you can no doubt about it I know this from first hand experience as I have a brother living in U S A and I live in UK and he bought me a ticket once to go out there via expedia and I had no problems at all

Yeah. You'll receive an e-ticket which she could print out in Mexico and bring with her to the airport. Well, actually, it's usually fine even without the paperwork. But, yeah, that is no problems at all!
