  1. no you could wear a Toric Lense which is a lilttle more expensive but you will notice toric lense will be a lot more clear then the regular. As far as the RX, no you will need to get a contact fitting, the only reason is becuse the docs have to measure your eye, see if the contact is sitting correctly on your eye. Everyone has a diffrent base, always remeber you will always need a contact fitting everyyear in order to fill your contacts.

  2. No, prescription numbers for glasses and contacts are very different.

  3. I am an optician working for an optometrist.  You cannot fill a contact lens prescription with a spectacle prescription because there is a power compensation since the lens would be sitting directly on your eye.  In order to determine your prescription for contacts an optometrist would first have to determine that you are a candidate for lenses ( some people cannot wear lenses due to certain eye conditions...) then find the appropriate parameters for your eye, which can vary within individuals.  The parameters would indicate which base curve and diameter you require.  Aside from these factors the product itself can make a difference in comfort and wear for each patient.  Best thing to do is to schedule a contact lens fitting with your Optometrist, to do so you will need to bring your current un-expired spectacle prescription to avoid having to do a regular exam again...If you are anywhere in the Los Angeles or Hollywood area we would be more than happy to schedule you!  www.hollywoodoptometrist.com  hope this helped.

  4. No, you need to get a seperate RX for contacts.

  5. no.  your glasses prescription is not the same as your contact one, because they take different measurements for contacts, since it is sitting directly on your eye.

  6. Somehow I doubt it but must admit  I am not certain. One would think the specifications for eye glasses should be different than the specs for contacts! I mean afterall, the contact is afixed directly to the eyeball. Why not call the specialists and ask?
