my parents are together but my dad is traveling before i go back to school and he wont be back until a week after school. I need a cell phone before school starts and i walk to and back from school everyday and my parents don't think it's very safe for me so anyways, my dad wants to buy me a sidekick 3 and my mom will sign me up after he does. so all i wanna know is if my dad can just buy me the sidekick 3 itself and my mom will do the rest a few days after? even tho i don't have an open account with t-mobile, which i will in due time, i just want to buy the phone IS THIS POSSIBLE?

  1. yes

    you could get one online

or go to T-Mobile and tell them what you wanna do

and theyll sell you the phone

  2. Yeah but that would be dumb because you get a big discount on the phones when you sign up for a contract and if you are going to do it anyway then why pay more for the phone just so you can look at it...?

  3. You could, BUT it would most likely be a used Sidekick 3 because T-Mobile doesn't sell them anymore.  The Sidekick 3 was discontinued when the Sidekick LX was released last October.  You can look on eBay or craigslist for a Sidekick 3, but it will likely be used.  After you have it, your mom will be able to take it to a T-Mobile store and activate it for you.  If you want a new phone, you'll get it a lot cheaper when opening service and starting a contract.
