Can i catch these criminals with this security camera?

Question

So recently some random kids with no life have been tee peeing my house and tagging different parts of my property. 2 different times, there were spray paint tagged on my garage, car, lawn, driveway, and a bunch of toilet paper everywhere. If i place it on the roof of house and btw i live in a two story house, would it be able to identify who it is from a two story house? When i catch them i want to turn it in to the police also!

The key is to have enough light for the camera to capture an image that is identifiable.You could hide it in some shrubs or something. If it is visible you will scare them away,hidden you may catch them in the act.

no im not tryin to be stupid but i have seen walmart have good cameras outside that can see the whole parkin lot and we all kno how big that is...and that one looks like it some what so u should buy it

Place it in a hidden place. Try finding the camera's range from Amazon. I dont think its black and white. If it is, dont go for it. You can even buy spy cameras that are very small. but the prices are quiet high. But first inform the police and show them all the marks. I think its the work of a gang of some sort. The police may be able to identify the gang by their distint paint. Best of luck.

The resolution might not be enough to catch identify vandals, but it the presence of the camera might be enough to deter any would-be criminals.

It'll work, though you might need to buy more to cover an entire range.

However, buying a camera alone won't suffice, you'll need a DVR capture card for these cameras and you'll also need additional software to record the video onto your PC.

After that, you'll also need a large HDD capacity for the video. Then you just gotta make sure the video's clear so you can catch their faces.
