Can i change my student visa status to permanent residence if i marry a permanent resident in USA?

  1. No, not any time soon anyway. If you marry a permanent resident, your spouse could file an immigrant petition for you, in the F2 category, but it would take 5 years before it became valid for use. Until that time it would give you no benefits at all. So, unless you're planning to remain a student for 5 years or can find some other status, you'd have to leave the US while waiting for your petition.
