  1. Depending on your system's resources, this should be easy.  First, backup all of your personal data.  Pictures, mail, your favorites, and your Address book.

I would suggest installing XP in that a system that is running ME probably can't handle Vista.

Next, just put the XP installation CD into your CD drive and restart the computer.  If the installation does not auto start, enter the BIOS and make sure that the boot sequence is set so that the CD drive boots prior to the Hard Drive.  After this is done the installation should start automatically and will walk you through the entire process.

  2. Just basically insert the new operating system disc (windows xp or vista) as soon as you switch on, then keep tapping delete key, this will enable you to enter the bios, from there you change the boot up device priority to cd rom or dvd rom (wherever u put the disc in) then press F10 (saves and exits), then follow all prompts to put your new operating system on. Once all completed remember to change the boot device priority back to what it was.

Also remember that vista has upgrades and full retail products, for which i strongly suggest the full retail product, as this includes partition deletion and creation as well as full format option.

You must remember that putting on a new operating system must take time and sort of knowledge.

System requirements must be taken note of too

    Good luck to you

  3. you can upgrade to windows xp but you will have to make sure the pc is able to upgrade. you will first need to make sure you have enough memory.  xp requires at least 256mb of ram to install and work but it will run slow.  you have to upgrade your memory to 512mb for a decent running of xp.  secondly, the processor has to be fast enough.  from my experience most ME computers have a processor over 600mhz.  i have upgraded alot of pcs and most ME os installs are pretty easy.....make sure you save your files to usb or cd....your gonna loose them all....do not do an upgrade....do a fresh xp os install.  if you do not know how to, go to  cctxsmartshop.com and let this guy do it for you.

  4. yes its easy cus you will be upgrading to a newer OS which will make it simpler on you unlike downgrading a whole different story

  5. yep, buy an upgrade kit. it costs $99.00 to upgrade to xp. works like a charm. while you are at it, go to crucialmemory.com and upgrade to the highest memory in order to take full advantage of your new OS. I have two brand new upgrade kits. If you want a super-duper deal on one, hit me up...jahforce@comcast.net         Peace
