you will need my help if youre going to install linux lol

  2. of course, u can.

if you are going to use Gnome Desktop, http://gnome-look.org/

if you are going to use KDE Desktop, http://kde-look.org/

  3. Very easily.  Not only are several available from Ubuntu itself, but you can download other, quite excellent themes from the Gnome and KDE web sites.

Ubuntu doesn't lie, but it does sell itself as more a unified package than it is.  You can actually even switch desktops in less then ten minutes if you have a fast computer and know what you are doing.  Since that tends to scare people who are technologically challenged off, they phrase things in the most reassuring manner they can while keeping a lot of good howtos on their web sites for people who want to look under the hood.  This for example has led to their branding their distros Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Xubuntu while Debian, for example, just has Debian though you can certainly get install disks for whichever desktop you want (or not desktop if that is what you want).  I've linked to a theme tutorial in sources, which should help you customize your desktop.  If you are on Ubuntu rather than one of the others I strongly recommend

    http://art.gnome.org

for themes wallpapers and other art.  They have a gorgeous selection.
